The Ultimate Checklist for Growing Your Contractor Business: 3 Must-Do Tips

It's a fresh new year! Woohoo! New Year, new goals, new ways you can grow your contracting business.

The key to successful growth in my opinion is a few important things, first and foremost - you have to know what you want for your business and which direction you would like to go. If you don't sail the ship, your boat will be knocked around on the ocean confused and in no direction.

  1. You Must have an up-to-date Online Presence!

Did you know 92% of people will go on-line to search for a service?

So yeah. If you aren't findable in Google you're already lagging behind.

This isn't meant to scare you, if you are providing AMAZING service and you have a long history of happy clients that refer you to their friends, family and anyone who will listen - that's GOLD. That takes time and experience.

However, to GROW, you need to have a professional on-line presence and image.

A potential customer is going to go with the top 3 results of their Googling search. You want to be in the Top 3.

You also want up-to-date social media profiles, where customers can easily e-mail you or message you.

Find out where your target "customer" hangs out. If it's men between 35-55, they are not hanging out on Pinterest.

2. Keep yourself in the loop with new technologies and innovation:

The saying "this is the way I've always done it" just doesn't fly anymore in business. Even if your business is in construction, there is always so much to learn and you must be able to be innovative so you can continue to grow business.

You cannot deny the digital transformation happening in our world.

Automating some of the processes in your business could save you a lot of time and money.

3. Focus on Customer Satisfaction and Relationships:

Traditional marketing (CALL US FOR A FREE QUOTE) doesn't work that well anymore. Be social on social media. Join groups on Facebook where you can engage with your target market and provide value. Comment, like and be helpful.

Go the extra mile for your customers, building strong relationships with other businesses in your industry and attending networking events with like-minded people can lead to referrals and new opportunities.

Make this year the best year yet!
